About project

The 6th edition of International Lutosławski Youth Orchestra is coming!

The beginnings of the one and only project go back to 2013 when 100 birth anniversary of Witold Lutoslawski was celebrated. Since then each year Szczecin Philharmonic invites young musicians from all over Europe to know and practice Lutroslawski's pieces under the eye of renowned and talented tutors. The workshops finish with a concert ILYO orchestra performs on a Philharmonic gold stage.
The programme of 2018 ILYO edition is as follows: the last IV Symphony of the project's patron – Witold Lutosławski, Zoltán Kodály's Dances of Galánta and Chopin's Piano Concerto No.2 in F-minor, Op.21.

The Artistic Director and the Chief Conductor of the Szczecin Philharmonic – Rune Bergmann will conduct ILYO orchestra for the second time. The pianist Piotr Alexewicz will perform as soloist.

Taking part in the 6th ILYO edition is also a remarkable occassion to perform not only in front of the Polish but also German audience since on 1st September the Orchestra will play in Neubrandenburg.
We invite students and music schools' graduates aged 18-30 from across Europe to follow our page and to take part in our project!
