Karol Nasiłowski - double bass
A graduate of the School of Music in Szczecin in the class of Prof.. Grzegorz Kmita. After a year of study in Szczecin, (where as 18 year old was already a full-time employee of Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra), he moved to Warsaw, where he studied at the The Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in the class of prof. Andrzej Mysiński. These studies ended with the highest grade.
His instrumental craftsmanship honed by participating in master classes with such teachers as Piotr Czerwinski, Irena Olkiewicz, Janusz Widzyk, Rinat Ibragimov, Miloslav Jelinek, Franco Petracchi.M, Jeff Bradetich, Eugene Kolosov, Boguslaw Furtok, Catalin Rotaru, Dariusz Mizera, Hiroshi Ikematsu Tomas Martin and Ekkehard Beringer.
During 2007 has allowed awarded the Grand Prix at the Second National Bass Competition II grade school in Warsaw, the first prize in the regional competition in Szczecin “Miniature 2008′′, got (the first Pole and the only bass player) to the semi-finals of the competition “Solo Bach Competition” in London (2010), III prize at the National Cello and Double-Double Bass Tournament in Warsaw (2012), second Prize at the III National Academic Bass Competition in Lodz and twice won the Grand Prize at the International Competition “Val Tidone Competition” in Italy in the category soloist and chamber musician.
He has performed at many festivals “World Bass Festival” rocław (2006, 2008, 2010) Bystrica Kłodzka 2006 Duszniki Spa 2006 Polish – German Young Philharmonic Lower Silesia in 2006, XIII and XIV International music workshops in Szczecin (2005 and 2006), XI Polish – German Youth Festival in Strasbourg in 2006, many projects youth orchestra Pomerania (2003-2007), VI Szczecin Early Music Festival 2009 and the Chopin Festival in
New York (2010).
He also received the following scholarships: scholarship of the President of Szczecin (2006, 2008 and 2009), scholarship of Capital City of Warsaw (2010, 2011 and 2012), scholarship of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (2013) and a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage “Young Poland“ (2013).
He played in Polish Orchestra Sinfonia Iuventus, Danish National Chamber Orchestra and Danish National Symphony Orchestra.
He currently works as a solo-bass player in the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic in Szczecin (Poland).
