Eloy Panizo Padrón - trombone, tube
Eloy Panizo Padrón currently holds the position of co-Principal Trombone with the National Forum of Music Wrocław Philharmonic Orchestra, Poland. Prior to this appointment, Eloy held the positions of Acting Principal with the Vancouver Symphony (Canada) and Principal with Holland Symfonia (the Netherlands). He also serves as professor of trombone at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wroclaw and is on the faculty of the National Forum of Music Orchestra Academy.
Eloy started his musical career at age 10 at the Patronato Insular de Música de El Hierro (Spain) with Francisco José Abellán. Later he would move to Tenerife where he studied with professor José Antonio Cubas and Deanna Dee Decker at the Conservatory of Music, and with Matthew Breeze and Yosef Itskovich at the former Tenerife Symphony Orchestral Studies Academy.
Eloy holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Trombone Performance by the Codarts University for the Arts in Rotterdam (the Netherlands), where he studied with Jörgen van Rijen, Pierre Volders and George Wiegel, as well as an Artist Diploma by the Colburn School Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, California, where he studied with Mark Lawrence.
He has participated in music festivals such as the Canary Islands Music Festival (Spain) and Music Academy of the West (United States). Eloy has given recitals in Spain, the Netherlands and the United States. He was a member of the original International Trombone Ensemble with whom he recorded a CD (6.35) and toured Japan. He has appeared and recorded, among others, with the Tenerife Symphony, the Gran Canaria Philharmonic, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic.
