Krzysztof Karpeta - cello
Krzysztof Karpeta graduated cum laude from the G. and K. Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź, where he studied with Stanisław Firlej (diploma in 2011). The following years saw him study at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Mannheim with Michael Flaksman and Jelena Očić. At present, he is concertmaster of the cellos with the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk. His other engagements have included the Mannheimer Philharmoniker, Landesjugendorchester Rheinland- Pfalz and Philharmonie der Nationen. As a soloist, he has performed with numerous orchestras in Poland and abroad. His recording catalogue includes such labels as CD Accord, DUX, Musicon and Chandos.
In 2011 with three outstanding Polish cellists of the young generation (Adam Krzeszowiec, Wojciech Fudala and Tomasz Daroch) he founded the Polish Cello Quartet, the only group in Poland playing music originally written for cello quartet. Members of the Quartet are the organizers and originators of the International Cello Academy in Nysa (Poland) which is thought to promote cello chamber music among students.
In 2014 r. for his outstanding achievements in arts he was awarded with an honourable mention of the J. Grotowski Scholarship Committee in Wrocław. Krzysztof Karpeta teaches at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław from which he received his doctorate in 2017.
